Trompettist/Dirigent/Arrangeur

Johan begon zijn muzikale carrière zoals zovelen bij de plaatselijke harmonie. Na omzwervingen bij marching bands, popbands, symfonie-orkesten, en een tijdje gestopt te zijn belandde hij in 2011 bij Big Band Coevorden. Daar is zijn hernieuwde muzikale en voornamelijk jazz-leven begonnen.

In de jaren daarna speelde hij bij meerdere, schrijft hij veel muziek voor (composities en arrangementen) en valt geregeld in bij diverse orkesten.

Van 2020-2024 volgde hij een full-time opleiding Jazz Trompet op het Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. Op dit moment is Johan instructeur van Showband Marum, dirigent van Dutch Spirit Big Band en speelt hij bij Want2Swing Big Band, Stageband Jazz Orchestra en The Jazzmob.

Johan started his musical career like many at the local wind orchestra at the age of 10. After wandering around with fanfares, pop bands, symphony orchestras and taking a break for a while, he ended up with Big Band Coevorden in 2011. It was there that his renewed musical and especially jazz life began.

In the following years he played with several, wrote a lot of music for (compositions and arrangements) and was regularly subbing in various orchestras.

From 2020-2024 he has been following the full-time Jazz Trumpet course at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. At this moment Johan is an instructor with Showband Marum, conductor of Dutch Spirit Big Band and is a member of Want2Swing Big Band, Stageband Jazz Orchestra en The Jazzmob.
